RE: Tire Wear Pattern-Tandem Axle TT (Pic's) Where to look next

In the bottom picture, is that a crack in the weld at the frame? If it is, you might consider getting it welded, just to be safe.
The two tires worn on the inside look as though its from excessive negative camber. On a solid axle it is usually caused from the axle being bent. As mentioned in an earlier reply, take it to a shop that works with truck/trailer axles and they can straighten it. Have them weld the hangers while its there.

Been to Willow Tree twice, once for a week. No problem with the WiFi. It's a great CG, too.

RE: AFTER MARKET ROTORS

427435 has got the right idea.
NAPA makes a "Premium" and an "ULTRA PREMIUM" rotor for your rig. The ultra has a life time warranty and they're NOT made in China.
Brakes are one area you don't want to go cheap on, I'm talking about quality cheap, not price cheap; though usually you get what you pay for.
I've used NAPA brakes parts for years and they haven't let me down.

RE: Purchased a fifth wheel. Need help selecting tow vehicle.

Unless you actually weigh the trailer, all you have to go by is "hypothetical calculations".
Weigh it, loaded for camping. THEN choose a TV.
In real life, you can get away with a 2500/250. As you can see in my sig, I perfer the Dodge 2500 with a Cummins Turbo Diesel. It suits my needs fine. It can handle your Montana.

RE: Charleston in October?

Rhonda,
At what CG are you staying?
James Island County CG is our favorite in Charleston.
As for restaurants, I haven't found one yet there that wasn't good.
Hyman's Seafood is a really good place, though.
Have fun!

I love spur of the moment camping trips, that way, my M-I-L doesn't find out until AFTER we left home.
Awesome!

RE: Tire wear on towed vehicle

The tire wear you describe sounds like a negative camber problem.
This can be from loading the rear of the Honda down with luggage or anything else heavy.
Or the rear camber could just be out of adjustment.
Bring it to a good a shop and have them check the alignment.
I beleive your Honda has independent rear suspension so the camber can change easily with a load.

RE: Switch it up,,,good exp. with Chinese Tires

I had good luck with chinese tires, I hang them up with a long rope on a tree as a swing for the kids. That's all they're good for.

RE: Tires

Galaxy tires are manufactured in China, there for, they are junk,
Your tire dealer was correct though. They are as good as Goodyear Marathon ST tires. You see, Marathons are now built in China and they are junk, too.

RE: Rear Kitchen

OK, I'll put in my 2 cents worth.
We have a Sabre 31 RKTS - Rear Kitchen Triple Slide. When the DW saw it at an RV show she HAD to have it. Who am I to deny her???
Actually we love it, especially when you like to cook or entertain. Awesome cabinet and counter space.
Here is a link to their site showing the floorplan.

SLOW DOWN!!!

I was coming home today from Atlanta, going East on I-20 just East of Columbia, driving 70 mph in my car.
I saw in my mirror a 5th wheel coming up in the passing lane at a high rate of speed. It was a Chevy 3500 dually towing an Avion, about a 36 footer.
The first thing I thought was, "man, this guy doesn't need to be driving this fast."
As he flew by, my second thought was,"man, there's only 3" clearance between the top of the truck bed and the trailer."
The third thing that I thought was,"man, this guy doesn't need to be traveling this fast."
He was gone in minutes.
About 45 minutes later, I found myself playing "dodge the gators in the road", pieces of an exploded tire all over both lanes.
Low and behold, what was pulled off on the shoulder? The Avion fiver pulled by the Chevy 3500 dually. I was going to pull over and help out, but I was too mad at him after having to play autocross around his blown up trailer tire pieces.
My advice? SLOW DOWN!! Save your tires, save your fuel, save people like me from having to dodge your gators in the road!!

RE: Mission Tires???

"Perfectly good chinese ST tires."
No such thing. an oxymoron.
Shortly after my last post, one of my missin tires developed a 6" bubble in the sidewall. Only 3500 miles on them. Caught it when breaking camp one morning. Called the 800 number on the side of the tire and they shipped me 5 new chinese built tires. Oh boy.
Had them mounted, balanced and steel valve stems installed.
I give them 5000 miles before they go, too.

RE: 2007 Dodge Ram 1 ton dually with 6.7 cummins

What is the DTC? (diagnostic trouble code)
Dodge has some service bulletins covering repairs for the check engine light coming on.
Mine did the same until they re-flashed my ECU. If my wife drove around town, it would set a code. No problem since the re-flash.

When is Thanksgiving celebrated in Canada?
It would give us a good excuse to go camping down here!
I don't mind going camping twice to celebrate two Thanksgivings!
